Esca Global AS is a company based in Bergen, Norway that develops, designs and markets fishing lure enhancers and accessories for the sportfishing market. The company was founded in December 2001 and spent more than eight years on product research, development and field testing.
The company’s main product is a fishing lure enhancer that uses light to attract fish by simulating the bioluminescence used by marine organisms to attract, repulse and communicate with other marine life. After development of the first working prototypes, the company conducted product trials in various countries to test different light colours as well as different flashing frequencies. In addition the products were tested in warm water regions, cold water regions and at a variety of ocean depths to optimise their effectiveness.
Esca® lure enhancers were finally launched onto the Norwegian and European markets during the second half of 2008, followed by the USA in 2009 and Asia in 2010. Since launch, Esca has offered a money-back guarantee for all products sold.
